Luxury garages with resin bound forecourt
West Sussex

The homeowner envisaged a series of display cases to house his elite motors accessed by an area of stylish, sleek paving – a sort of car ‘catwalk’ for these timeless beauties.

Clearstone’s resin bound paving has definitely lifted the project up; if we have a chance we’ll use it again.” Lukas Brzozowski Managing Director, A Room in the Garden Ltd.

Project Brief:

The new owner of an unusual crescent shaped house sitting in the undulating countryside of West Sussex was delighted with his unique home, but storage for his impressive car collection was sadly lacking. Protection from the elements was crucial, but this ardent classic car enthusiast didn’t want his collection hidden behind the solid walls and doors of a traditional garage.

When you own cars whose gorgeous lines and glossy bodywork take your breath away, you want to be able to see and enjoy them. The homeowner envisaged a series of display cases to house his elite motors accessed by an area of stylish, sleek paving – a sort of car ‘catwalk’ for these timeless beauties.

In addition, garages and paving needed to echo the contours of his crescent shaped home and blend with the existing resin bound paving at the front of the house.

Project Solution:

Lukas Brzozowski, Director of Brighton-based company A Room in the Garden designed and built four cedar-clad garages angled to mirror the curve of the house. The glazed up-and-over doors and side windows offer tantalising glimpses of the owner’s iconic vehicles.

With the groundworks completed for the resin bound paving, the company Lukas had employed to lay it pulled out and he had a deadline to meet. He contacted Clearstone.

“Clearstone completed the paving within two weeks from initial contact,” says Lukas. “They were very professional, timely and definitely knew what they were doing.”

The Clearstone team laid 228m2 of pristine resin bound in Metro – a colour that complements the resin bound on the front drive and the graphite frames of the garages. The flexibility of resin bound allowed Clearstone craftsmen to echo the contours of the house, creating the perfect space for accessing the garages and displaying the homeowner’s magnificent motors.

During the build, the homeowner was sensitive about cleanliness on his property. “The Clearstone team did brilliantly – cleaning and protecting the site throughout,” says Lukas. “The team kept disruption to a minimum and were all very polite.”

Project Conclusion:

As the client, Lukas Brzozowski is delighted with the finished paving.

“Clearstone’s resin bound paving has definitely lifted the project up; if we have a chance we’ll use it again.”

The homeowner is happy too. “He loves it! It looks fantastic and the colour works really well,” says Lukas. “Not only is he pleased with the result – but also how the team worked on site.”

The Clearstone team is proud to have helped their client, A Room in the Garden, meet the tight deadline and the homeowner’s requirements.

“Lukas was pleased we were able to step in at the last minute and complete the project on time efficiently and professionally,” says Clearstone Operations Director Spencer Kennard.
